"Our second largest (and frankly, most important) wedding budget item was our wedding planner Kelly.  Hiring a wedding planner seemed like one of those things that only people with large budgets could afford to do.  And like a good photographer, they are a large portion of the budget.  But choosing to spend our money on a wedding planner instead of a different venue or a photographer was worth its weight in gold.  Who cares if you have a world-class photographer if you spend your wedding weekend crying in a closet from the stress?  You can't Photoshop a breakdown out of your pictures.  So in the spirit of keeping my sanity, I hired a wedding planner.  Kelly was organized, patient, and more creative than me.  She took my vaguely formed ideas like 'Newhart-like, but using this paper pattern, and a bit like your eighth grade dance, but with cashmere and in the winter' and turned it into a gorgeous nostalgia-filled vintage winter wedding.

 

Hiring a planner meant that I could fully concentrate on the creative tasks of my choosing, but that our table numbers would also look pretty nice.  She organized the rentals with the venue and spent the night before the wedding stringing up twinkle lights from the rafters while I hung out with family and friends.  It was DIY, but with people who were contractually obligated to help.  I did most of the crafts before we got to Vermont; she put it all together.  She was able to take our budget and give us the wedding that we wanted and pay herself out of it.  Pro-tip for choosing a wedding planner:  Choose the one that says 'look at all this money!' when you tell her your modest budget." - ADDIE W-T. (Bonus Note:  Through hiring us for Flowers, Stationery, Partial Planning - which included Budget Analysis & Maintenance - and Coordination services for her destination wedding in Vermont from Florida, we saved Addie $2000 from her budget!  Her original wedding budget also gave her a fun honeymoon!)

"Kelly was excellent!  She was very responsive and always friendly during the planning process.  She makes a Pinterest page for every client so that you're on the same page about what everything should look like on the day-of.  Kelly delivered flowers to 2 different places for us on our wedding day and then also decorated both the ceremony area and the gifts table with extra flowers and petals even though that was not explicitly stated in our contract.  Everything looked great!  I was so impressed by our bouquets and boutonnieres!  They even came in nice vases with cute labels on them to let us know which flowers were for whom.  Kelly also stayed for quite a while after delivering the flowers to make sure it was all set.  I don't believe the cake was set up yet when she arrived to decorate it at the wedding venue, but she stayed until that was ready and then did a great job making it look very nice.  I would definitely recommend Angelic Affairs (Destination Azores)!  They are great service for a great price!
